AJE June Component of the Month Reveal

This months we got some awesome pieces from Jenny Davies-Reazor.

I received these gorgeous Turquoise colors pieces.
I just love the pattern and that it's rough around the edges. I made the Sea Urchin faux bone pieces with center holes to go with them and topped it all with a beautiful turquoise barrel.

Wild Bird Wednesday

I don't see the Pileated often enough so very happy when this boy visited my Suet.

Extreme close up, they are amazing!!

After visiting the suet he spent some time pounding on the ground.
I was frustrated I couldn't get a clear shot of him through the chain link. This was by far the best of the lot.

A little fledgling hunkered down under this bush having a rest.
Song Sparrow is my guess???

Another view of this cute little one.

I think this might be the same Fledgling taken the next day. Bathing in the rain.

From a large Pileated to a tiny Anna's Hummingbird
This little Anna's at the feeder.
Looks a little bit downy so I think it might be a young one.

I have at least 2 Anna's that spend time in and around my Butterfly bush. They have favorite branches so I am constantly scanning to see if they are perched there. They often zoom around each other at the feeders too, such a joy to watch.

One of a number of Juvenile Stellar's Jay, they are so much fun!
I sure love these teeny boppers!

You can't see it very well but this is a Cedar Waxwing, my first!!
Not a good picture but you can be sure I'm pretty excited to have finally seen one!

AJE Earring Challenge REVEAL #12 weeks 23-24/52

Here are my creations for this weeks AJE Earring Challenge Reveal.
I seem to be in a blue phase, I didn't even realize until I loaded them up.

The first pair start with wonderful Glass Headpins by HavanaBeads, they work perfectly with these rustic Handmade Terracotta beads in blue. I set them off with a little bit of Sari Silk and top them with a tiny Faceted Agate Bead.

Terracotta Blues

The second pair again start with Headpins, this time some of my Copper Starfish headpins with wonderful soft Seafoam Recycled Glass beads and a little Czech glass bead to finish them off.

Beachy

Both of these are availabe in my Etsy Shop

Time to hop around to see what everybody else has created for this reveal.
We are having a giveaway with this one so hopefully there will be lots to see!

Wild Bird Wednesday

It's always a good week when I have new birds to share on Wild Bird Wednesday.

Here's a Hummingbird at the Honeysuckle, not sure if it's a Rufous or Anna's.

More pictures from Brightwater Treatment Plant
A great little area for me because it's so close to my house and I drive by it often.

Barn Swallow...what a face!

Focusing on Life - Week 24: Green

I just happen to have lots of beautiful Green in my yard, here are a couple of my favorites!

First 2 pictures of an amazing Hosta I have in my yard, just after it was watered.
Can't resist water droplets!!

Next the tips of our Christmas Tree, you heard it right.
We have our live Christmas Tree that's in a pot and we transfer it up to our deck in front of sliding glass doors and decorate it at Christmas time.
I just love the soft green of the new growth on the tips!

Thanks to Sally of The Studio Sublime for her Focusing on Life challenge of which I am hopelessly behind.
Not even going to try to catch up but I'll join in when I can.

Wild Bird Wednesday

First I'll share another bird I saw in Reno at the Swan Lake
HERE's my previous blog showing the other birds I saw there.

Below is a cute little American Avocet, a life bird for me!

American Avocet

I discovered a new Wetland area very close to my home, I spent a couple hours there yesterday.
I heard this wonderful little Wren for a long time and could never get a picture, the grasses are all above my head in most areas so unless the bird perches in a tree or on the top of one of these Cat Tails I can't see them.  Then finally this little one was kind enough to perch on a spot I could see from the walk way, stayed there singing away long enough for me to get several good pictures!

Marsh Wren
Then he/she grabbed a bit of nesting material before flying away.

Below is a different Marsh Wren singing up a storm.

Towards the end of the walk I saw this Bald Eagle coming in and landing, fortunately I was in a spot I could fairly easily move to a spot I could zoom in on it taking a drink!

Red Winged Blackbird

This little Savannah Sparrow was the first bird I saw as I was entering the wetlands.
So happy I got such a charming shot!
